Methodist government minister John Miller founded the Millersburg Male together with Female Seminary inwards 1852. Several years later, George Savage reorganized the establishment every bit the Millersburg Male together with Female Collegiate Institute. In 1858, the Kentucky Methodist Conference assumed command of the establishment together with established Kentucky Wesleyan College for men together with a split schoolhouse known every bit the Millersburg Female College. Kentucky Wesleyan afterward moved to Winchester, KY inwards 1890 and later, inwards 1951, to Owensboro, KY.
